DEADLINE EXTENSION FOR
2021-2022 FNESS-ISC FUNDING OPPORTUNITY
Attention: First Nation Communities
Please be advised that there is an extension to the deadline for applications for the 2021-2022 FNESS-Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) On-Reserve Operational Fuel Treatment and On-Reserve FireSmartTM Programs.
The new intake deadline is Thursday, September 30th, 2021.
The purpose of the extension is to ensure that all First Nation communities have an opportunity to apply for funding to support wildfire mitigation initiatives. Many First Nation communities throughout British Columbia have and continue to be affected by the current wildfire situation, some through evacuation orders and alerts or through allocation of resources to help other First Nation communities in need. FNESS is currently experiencing significant workloads related to wildfire response and recovery needs but will do our best to work with communities to assist them with applications for program funding.
Additionally, FNESS will strive to evaluate and approve applications that have been submitted to ensure that approvals for the projects can be done in a timely and efficient manner and will continue to adjudicate decisions on projects as they are submitted.
