Registration open for 39th Annual BC Indigenous Firefighter Competition

Attention BC First Nations’ Fire Departments! We are thrilled to announce FNESS’s 39th Annual BC Indigenous Firefighter Competition, Training, and Banquet in collaboration with the 2024 FCABC Expo.

This exciting event will take place in Kamloops, British Columbia, on Saturday, June 1st, 2024. We invite all BC First Nations Fire Department members to register and participate in two days of interactive training prior to the Competition, as well as attend the BC Fire Chiefs Expo following the event.

For safety reasons, the training days will be exclusive to Fire Department members only. Shuttle buses will be provided to and from the hotel for participants on training days. Please note: there is a maximum allowance of one team per community for registration. This policy is subject to change.

Day 1 Training with FNESS & Kamloops Fire Rescue

When: Thursday, May 30
Where: Kamloops Fire Rescue Training Centre, 1614 Bunker Road

Day 2 Training with FNESS & Kamloops Fire Rescue

When: Friday, May 31
Where: Kamloops Fire Rescue Training Centre, 1614 Bunker Road


When: Saturday, June 1
Where: Riverside Park, 100 Lorne Street, Kamloops

Awards Banquet

When: Satuday, June 1
Where: Moccasin Square Garden, 357 Chief Alex Thomas Way

Fire Chiefs Expo

When: Sunday, June 2 
Where: Sandman Centre, 300 Mark Recchi Way (Lorne Street)

How to register

Please ensure that all registration forms are signed and uploaded to the Formsite application form before the April 30, 2024 registration deadline. The event is open to all First Nations’ Fire Departments in BC but teams must follow the rules and requirements as outlined in the Firefighter Competition Book.
