Emergency Management (EM) and Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Training

Over the last month the focus has been the Emergency Management and Emergency Operations Centre online training. During the 6 weeks online sessions, 161 participants from 84 communities attended one or more sessions of the series.

The online sessions provided by FNESS allow communities to connect and identify how they can support their communities during an emergency.


Emergency Management (EM) Courses

Available in community or virtual formats.

  • Introduction to Emergency Management – 2 hours
  • Incident Command System (ICS) Basics – 2 hours
  • Family and Personal Preparedness – 2 hours

Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Courses

Available in community or virtual formats.

  • EOC Functional Roles and Responsibilities
  • Covers 7 functions – 2 hours each
  • EOC Evacuation – 3 hours
  • EOC Blended Basics
  • Includes EM, ICS, and EOC content – 3 hours
  • EOC and Leadership – 3 hours

In-Community Training

EOC Blended Basics with Tabletop Exercise

  • 2-Day Session – 12 hours

JIBC Correspondence Course Facilitation

Support available for in-person facilitation of the following:

  • EMRG 1100 – Introduction to Emergency Management in Canada – 7 hours
  • EMRG 1200 – Incident Command System (ICS) – 7 hours
  • EMRG 1300 – Introduction to EOC – 7 hours
