Each year across Canada thousands of people suffer burn and scald injuries and our young children and Elders are most at risk. The good news is that these injuries are preventable.

Burn Awareness Week (BAW) 2023 is February 5-11th. This is an annual, National campaign intended to heighten awareness about devastating burn injuries and educate people about how to prevent and treat them.

To support First Nations communities, FNESS has developed a simple Burn Awareness Week program. The program includes a School Poster Contest for all ages, Fire Safety Educational Poster, and Safety Sheet with critical burn and scald protection information.
