WHY THIS FUND MATTERS
Emergencies can require communities to respond quickly or evacuate with little notice.
During these situations, it is important that Elders have the support and resources needed to remain safe and access assistance when emergencies occur. In many First Nations communities, particularly those in remote or rural areas, access to emergency planning resources, training, and coordinated support can be limited. This initiative helps strengthen preparedness efforts so communities are better equipped to ensure Elders have the support, planning, and coordination needed during emergency situations.
